President of SIM Technology Simon Wong Wins Young Industrialist Awards of Hong Kong 2007

Simon Wong, the president of a leading mobile handset and wireless communication module developer in China SIM Technology Group Limited (“SIM Technology” or the “Group”; SEHK stock code: 2000), has won the “Young Industrialist Awards of Hongkong 2007” (“the Awards”) organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (“the Federation”).
Organized annually by the Federation starting in 1988, the Awards aims to honor outstanding young industrialists for their achievements and commitment to manufacturing industry and encourage them to contribute their expertise to economic development. Nominees to the Awards have to go through a strict selection process conducted by a judging panel comprising senior government officials and experienced industrialists. The panel would interview nominees and assess their achievements and contribution to the industrial sector as well as the society before selecting the winners.
Mr. Wong introduced western management philosophy to SIM Technology when he founded the Group. He optimized the integral parts of the supply chain to improve the Group’s overall productivity. Led by Mr. Wong, SIM Technology has grown from strength to strength since inception and its engineering team is now 900-strong starting from 30 at the beginning. He also used only three years to turn the Group into the largest independent mobile handset design company in China and saw SIM Technology listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in 2005. Mr. Wong also makes sure the Group lives up to its corporate social responsibility. He encourages staff to volunteer to help the underprivileged in the society.

Mr. Wong Hei, Simon, is the president and the founder of SIM Technology, and a director of Shanghai Sunrise, SEIL, Simcom International Holdings Limited, Suncom International Holdings Limited and Max Vision Limited. After he graduated from the Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, he joined an international corporation in Silicon Valley.
